John R. Kaegi of Browns Mills, New Jersey, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 22, 2026. He was born on November 12, 1947, in the Bronx, New York, to John and Carmela Kaegi (De Lucia).
John grew up in Throggs Neck on Sampson Avenue and attended P.S. 71, P.S. 72, J.H.S. 101, and Bronx Vocational High School. He proudly served 22 years in the United States Air Force, including service during the Vietnam War, before retiring and settling in New Jersey. He later worked for 21 years as a Certified Aerospace Inspector for the Federal Aviation Administration. John loved working on classic cars, motorcycles, and his boat.
John is survived by his three sons, Raymond (Catherine) of Brownfield, Texas; John (Kathleen) of Mechanicsville, Virginia; and Robert (Pat) of Browns Mills, New Jersey; and his two daughters, Angeline Prather (Steven) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Andreana Cameron (Matthew) of Lumberton, New Jersey. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Lindsey, Mariyah, Brekken, Ryan, Takara, Aaron, Stephanie, Haley, Christian, Rylie, Autumn, and Ethan; and his brother, Brian of Clifton Park, New York.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sachiko Funches; his second wife, Porntip Kaegi; his brother, Thomas; and his sister, Darlene Caprio.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026 at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Arneytown, North Hanover Twp., New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Deborah Hospital Foundation.
